Spotlight: Comfortably justified short odds in small-field Stratford novice (2m, good to firm) in July and is now 4-7 over hurdles; has a lot more on his plate in this competitive handicap but we don't yet know the limit of his ability.

Spotlight: 2-6 over hurdles, the latter win gained at Hexham (2m4f, good) in May; not seen since respectable Flat run 75 days ago and not sure to benefit from this drop back in trip, but may still have some potential over jumps.

Spotlight: Quirky customer who sometimes races far too freely, but got career back on track with two come-from-behind wins (both 2m, good; soft also suits) under Beau Morgan this spring; probably still on a good mark if all goes to plan.

Spotlight: Won Listed Flat race in France in 2023 and launched hurdling career with two promising Uttoxeter runs (both 2m, good) for Robert Eddery in summer 2024, the latter a comfortable win; well-beaten 50-1 shot on the Flat this month, after a long absence, but Sean Bowen is booked here; interesting.

Spotlight: Progressive for new stable since the autumn, collecting four wins (2m-2m1f, good-heavy) along the way; below form when tried over 2m5f last week (no headgear) but was fourth in last month's Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen (2m, good; first-time cheekpieces; refitted today) and is now 2lb lower.

Spotlight: Low-mileage 6yo who readily won Worcester maiden last month and ran well in defeat on subsequent handicap debut at Uttoxeter (also 2m); up in grade here and unraced on ground other than good, but should have more to offer.

Spotlight: Placed on both starts for new stable in February (2m1f/2m3f, good to soft), but returned from break with low-key run at Perth (2m, good) a fortnight ago and needs that outing to have brought him on.

Spotlight: Built upon pleasing stable debut when coming from off the pace for C&D (good) success under Leah Noreci in May, but wasn't quite in same form here last month and the forecast rain is another negative.

Spotlight: Won Listed handicap at Fairyhouse (2m, yielding to soft) for Willie Mullins last November, but ended last season with some below-par efforts and was well beaten on both starts for new stable this summer (2m1f/2m7f).

Spotlight: Won five times over hurdles (once over C&D) and three times on the Flat last year; quite versatile regarding ground but has been safely held on both starts this summer (hurdle/Flat) and current mark probably demands a personal-best.

Spotlight: Better known as a chaser now and has not really been firing on all cylinders for new stable here this season (three runs); reverts to hurdling on a good mark but still has something to prove.

Spotlight: Dual C&D winner (good/soft); returned to form with two Flat wins in April, but was soundly beaten when back over hurdles here in June and contests a much stronger race today.

Spotlight: Close third at Worcester (2m, good) on both starts since returned to hurdling in June; not yet fully exposed over hurdles, but moves up from Class 5 today and the forecast rain may not be in his favour.
